SBIRC The SBIR Consortium

The Small Business Innovation Research Consortium (SBIRC) was established in 2018 to advocate for the needs of innovation entrepreneurs, helping them start and grow through state/federal policy changes, access to capital, business incentives, business to business networking, and procurement opportunities.

One core focus area for the SBIRC is to promote participation, preparation, and successful award of federal research grants, both SBIR and STTR, which can serve to seed small business innovation.

The federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program encourages small businesses to engage in cutting edge research and development that has the potential for tech transfer and commercialization. These competitive awards are managed by federal agencies, such as DOD, NASA and NIH, who collectively invest $2 billion annually in U.S. small businesses.
